Sand Loop
Sand Loop

The Sand Loop game brings together flowing sand and a soothing yet challenging Color sorting experience. Match up buckets on a moving conveyor belt with the correct sand to remove each of the layered pictures in the correct order. Physics makes completing each successful movement enjoyable. But, the conveyor belt has only five slots, and blocked colors limit what you can accomplish on the first few levels. Therefore, on those initial levels, strategy requires more than just rapid tapping.

Key Controls

  • Use MOUSE and LEFT-CLICK

Overview

Sand Loop is a physics-based sand puzzle based upon ordering colors and managing a conveyor belt. In every level there is a picture composed of stacked layers of colored sand. There are buckets underneath the board; however, every bucket will only take sand that matches the Color of the bucket. Once you let go of a bucket that was correctly selected, all of the sand falls naturally to the bottom of the board and then the artwork begins to clear layer-by-layer.

Layered colors matter because in most cases the lower Color(s) have to clear out of the way before the Color above them can begin to fall. However, if you select a blocked or unusable bucket too early, it could possibly use up one of the conveyor belts' five spaces with little to no effect on clearing the picture. Furthermore, if you congest the belt (i.e., fill all five slots), it limits the number of options you have available to you, which means it would be best to leave some space for whatever Color you know you will need next.

Several new features were added to create different types of challenges in later stages. For example, Sea Shells hidden within the sand may allow you to unlock buckets, Picture Locks will lock certain parts of the artwork until you locate a specific item within the level that allows you to unlock them, and Puffer fish may add elements that can either hinder or aid you in determining when to place your next bucket. Tools like magnets, mixers and instant cleaning agents may be available via supported version upgrades when standard sequencing isn't sufficient.

Features

  • Color-matched buckets traveling around a fixed-length conveyor belt;
  • Realistic sand particles that will fall, stack, slide and cascade down to available spaces;
  • Layers of pictures that reveal a completed artwork as the sand is cleared;
  • Over 1000+ handmade levels that increase in difficulty;
  • Blocked buckets, shells, keys, fish, obstacles and possible booster items;
  • Simple mouse and touch-screen controls for both desktop and mobile play.

Beginner tips

  • Study the lowest layer of visible sand prior to releasing any bucket.
  • Keep one space open on the conveyor belt whenever you are unsure about the next Color.
  • Choose buckets that can collect sand immediately rather than letting them sit idle.
  • Use boosters only after verifying whether a sequential solution exists.

Advanced Tips

  • Plan ahead several colors using visualization techniques to see how they will fall.
  • Place buckets based on timing so that they arrive at their destination on the moving conveyor belt.
  • Treat shells, keys and moving objects as part of the overall Color sequence.
  • When multiple buckets are available choose the one that creates more sand availability.

Common errors

  • Quickly releasing buckets without considering the layered Color sequence.
  • Filling all five spaces of the conveyor belt with colors that cannot currently collect sand.
  • Choosing an upper Color while a lower layer still prevents its flow.
  • Spending a useful booster before the board is truly stuck.

Frequently asked questions

  1. What is Sand Loop?

    Sand Loop is a level-based Color-sorting puzzle where you send matching buckets around a conveyor belt and clear layers of falling sand to reveal an artwork.

  2. How do i play Sand Loop?

    Select a bucket whose Color matches an accessible layer of sand. Continue sending additional buckets and keeping track of the amount of space left on the conveyor belt and continue removing each Color until you have completely removed all layers of the artwork.

  3. How do i beat Sand Loop levels?

    Always start with the lowest accessible colors, always save some space on the conveyor belt, and plan ahead before picking blocked buckets. As long as you are able to determine the correct sequence of colors rather than tapping rapidly, difficult levels will become much easier.

  4. What happens when my conveyor belt is full?

    If your conveyor belt is filled with buckets and/or sand, there is no longer room for any other bucket(s), which can cause you to be unable to pick the next Color needed. This is why maintaining enough empty space on your conveyor belt is very important.

  5. What does a sea shell and a picture lock do?

    A sea shell can help unlock a bucket; a picture lock locks off certain areas of an artwork until you locate the specific item needed to unlock it within the level.

  6. Can i play Sand Loop on mobile?

    Yes. Sand Loop online supports mobile browser compatibility with tap controls. Also, there are app versions available for supported devices.

Conclusion

Sand Loop achieves a perfect balance between visually pleasing graphics and intelligent sequencing. The visual aspect of watching sand fall is calming; but the limited conveyor space and layered colors will give every action significance. Sand Loop is definitely worth trying for anyone interested in light physics-based games with easy-to-understand goals that evolve into increasingly complex puzzles over time.
