Gold does 2 jobs in this arena. Picking it up levels you up in the middle of a fight, and whatever you carry out buys upgrades for the next one. WarCall.io is a free battle royale brawler you play in your browser. You pick a champion, fight with melee attacks and skills in a shrinking arena, and spend gold between matches on champions and equipment.
Key Controls
- Move: MOUSE CURSOR
- Attack: LEFT MOUSE BUTTON
- Power attack: HOLD and RELEASE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON
- Active skill: RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON
How It Works
WarCall.io drops you into a dark arena with a counter of fighters still standing, and the safe zone on the minimap closes in as the match runs. Your champion follows the cursor. A left click swings, holding and releasing the button dashes into a power attack, and the right click fires the champion's own active skill.
Gold, chests and power-ups lie around the arena. Gold gives experience, each level makes your champion larger and stronger, and chests hold more gold, resources and power-ups. When you fall, the Game Over screen shows your place, kills and time fought, then pays out gold for the Champions and Equipment menus.
- Press START and then PLAY to join a match.
- Steer toward gold and chests with the mouse cursor.
- Click the left mouse button to attack nearby enemies.
- Hold and release the left mouse button for a power attack.
- Press the right mouse button to use your champion's active skill.
- Stay inside the closing zone shown on the minimap.
- Spend your gold on equipment upgrades after the match.
What Makes It Stand Out
- 10 champions. The champion menu lists 10, including the Rat, Golem, Dragon and Witch.
- A champion rotation. Some champions can be played without buying them for a while, with a countdown to the next rotation.
- 3 kinds of attack. Every champion has a basic attack, a power attack and an active skill.
- 10 equipment slots. 6 are open from the start: helmet, armor, belt, boots, sword and gloves.
- Upgrades with a recipe. A helmet upgrade takes 300 gold, a helmet resource and an emerald.
- A shrinking arena. The minimap shows the safe zone closing in during each match.
Getting Started
- Grab gold early in WarCall.io. Gold is both your experience and your money, so every coin levels you up now and adds to what you spend later.
- Open chests whenever you pass one. They hold gold, upgrade resources and power-ups.
- Use the right click when an enemy is in range. The active skill is different for each champion, and the Dragon breathes a fire spray to the front, so facing matters.
- Check the rotation before buying a champion. A champion on the rotation can be tried before you spend gold on it.
Going Further
WarCall.io splits progress between champions and equipment. The Dragon costs 10,000 gold, while each of its skill upgrades costs 500, so early gold goes further on upgrades than on a new champion. Equipment needs more than gold: the helmet asks for 300 gold plus a helmet resource and an emerald, and those come from chests in the arena. Survival pays twice, because you level up during the match and a win can bring a Secret Reward.
Mistakes Worth Avoiding
- Losing track of the zone. The safe area on the minimap keeps shrinking as the match runs.
- Picking fights at level 1. Each level makes your champion larger and stronger, so early gold makes the first fights easier.
- Skipping chests. Chests are where the upgrade resources come from.
- Spending everything on a champion. The 10,000 gold for the Dragon would pay for 20 skill upgrades at 500 each.
