Nobody in Gun Mayhem Redux has a health bar that runs out from damage alone. Each fighter starts with 10 lives, every shot pushes the target back, and the real danger is the empty air at the edge of the map. Gun Mayhem Redux is a free platform shooter you play in your browser. You jump between platforms, fire at up to 3 rivals, grab crates and try to knock everyone else off the stage until you are the last player standing.

How It Works
Gun Mayhem Redux, made by Kevin Gu, is a side view shooter where up to 4 fighters share one map made of floating platforms. Every fighter has 10 lives and a small ammo counter over their head. Shots do not drain a health bar, they push the target backward, so a few well placed hits can send a rival flying off the edge and cost them a life. Crates dropped onto the map give new weapons and extra points.
There are 2 ways to play. Single Player opens with a short Tutorial and a Campaign of 10 challenges, from Simple AI Deathmatch and Domination Mode to Katana Master, Bow and Arrow and the Final Challenge, and finishing a challenge unlocks new ones. Custom Game lets you fill 4 slots with human or AI players, pick a mode and a map, and dress each fighter with a hat, shirt, face, color, starting gun and perk such as 3x Jump.
- Open Custom Game and choose Free For All.
- Pick a map such as Beanstalk Brawl, or leave it on Random.
- Set each slot to Human or AI and choose a gun and perk.
- Press START to drop into the arena.
- Move and jump between platforms with your keys.
- Shoot rivals to push them toward the edge.
- Knock every rival out of lives to win the round.
What Makes It Stand Out
- 4 player local matches: 4 people can share one keyboard, with the numpad covering players 3 and 4.
- Knockback combat: Every hit pushes the target back, so the map edge is the real threat.
- 10 maps: Forest Fight, Cake Combat, Frozen Feud and 7 more, each with a Mirrored option.
- 3 custom modes: Free For All, Team Deathmatch and Domination change how a round is won.
- 10 campaign challenges: Each one adds a rule, a weapon or a tougher AI.
- Fighter customization: Hats, shirts, faces, colors, guns and perks are set per slot.
Getting Started
- Play the Gun Mayhem Redux Tutorial first. It is a single short level that teaches movement and shooting before the Campaign.
- Stay near the middle of the map. A fighter close to the edge needs only a few hits to fall off.
- Watch your ammo counter. The number over your head shows how many shots are left in your current gun.
- Grab crates early. In Free For All each crate is worth 10 points and brings a fresh weapon.
Going Further
Gun Mayhem Redux is about position more than aim. A fighter who controls the center platform can push rivals toward both edges, while anyone caught on a small outer ledge has nowhere to go. Points add up fast in Free For All, at 100 per kill and 10 per crate, so a round can be won on crates when kills are slow. Perks change the plan as well: 3x Jump gives extra recovery after a big hit, which makes riskier positions safer. In the Campaign, new challenges only open after you clear an earlier one, so the Katana Master and Rocket Launcher rounds are goals for later.
Mistakes Worth Avoiding
- Fighting on the edge. One push is enough to cost a life there.
- Ignoring crates. Crates are the main source of new weapons and extra points.
- Jumping without a landing spot. A missed jump costs a life just like a knockback.
- Chasing one rival in Free For All. The others score while you follow a single target.
Similar 2 Player Games
If this was your first taste of the series, Gun Mayhem is the original platform shooter with the same knockback idea. Gun Mayhem 2: More Mayhem adds more weapons and maps to the formula. For a platform fight with special moves instead of guns, Super Smash Flash 2 is a big crossover brawler, and Tank Trouble keeps the local multiplayer with bouncing shots in a maze. More picks are in 2 Player Games.
Final Thoughts
The Gun Mayhem Redux game is a quick and chaotic platform shooter that shines with friends on one keyboard. Playing Gun Mayhem Redux online works best on a computer, since every player needs a set of keys. Solo players get a solid 10 challenge Campaign, but crowding 4 people around one keyboard is where the game is at its best.
