Overview

Pixel World is a new first-person shooter with online competition (versus) play focused on very brief rounds of action. Players take part in very fast-paced competitive deathmatches on blocky levels using guns, melee weapons, grenades etc. While these types of levels allow for large numbers of players (creating intense fire-fights), they require just as much strategic knowledge about their location and timing as accurate firing.

There are currently four unique game modes in Pixel World that alter what needs to be done during each round. Deathmatch pits each player against one another individually for kills. Team fight separates players into two separate teams. In flag capture both teams have to attack/defend simultaneously. Control Points requires each team to defend designated points. Also, players can create private match rooms for them and their friends to use instead of waiting for an open spot in a public match room.

Players can also create a custom load-out prior to entering a battle with four slots. A well-balanced load-out could contain a good dependable primary firearm, a close range secondary, a melee tool, and a grenade. Each slot has characteristics such as damage output, fire rate, range and feel that would help players better pick which ones work best on specific maps. There are also additional goals beyond competing in matches such as completing daily quest objectives; and the top performing individuals/squads/clan leaders receive badges/ranks that represent their achievements on a day-to-day basis, as well as their overall performance in terms of ranking throughout the week/months.

Main Features

  • Competitive multi-player battles taking place within colorful block-based arenas
  • Deathmatch, Team Fight, flag capture and Control Points game modes
  • Create your own private match room for you and your friends to play together
  • Customize your 4-load out slots with multiple types of firearms/melee/grenades
  • Complete daily quests/rewards/squad/clan leader boards for tracking progress

Tips for Beginners

  • Beginners should start off with a fairly versatile firearm that operates effectively at mid-range distances.
  • Find yourself near your fellow team members until you become familiar with the most common routes to take on each map.
  • Instead of reloading in the middle of an open path, reload behind some form of cover.
  • Before trying to kill every enemy you see, check the mode description to ensure you're focusing on the right goal.

Advanced Tips

  • Dash across wide open areas or cut-off an opponent's aim with a dash.
  • Switch load-outs whenever the map makes a certain combat distance preferable for a particular type of firearm.
  • When playing flag capture, focus on protecting the path back to the flag as opposed to gathering everyone near it.
  • When playing Control Points, try to control strategic angles around the capture zones as opposed to standing shoulder to shoulder with your teammates.

Common Mistakes

  • Assuming every mode will operate similarly to deathmatch and neglecting to recognize team objectives.
  • Filling all four slots with the same type of firearm that has roughly the same effective range.
  • Darting quickly around corners without being prepared to get a shot off immediately.
  • Continuing to occupy a single position once you've made it visible repeatedly due to continuous fire.
