You’ll start competing on steep mountain trails that call for a lot of speed, style, and aggressive contact to get ahead of the competition. There will be five computer-controlled riders vying for first place, so you’ll have to master launching off wooden ramps, building up boost through smooth tricks, and using punches or kicks to take advantage of positioning. Overview
Downhill Mayhem is a Classic extreme downhill title-inspired 3D arcade mountain bike racing game. Even though the mountain does the majority of the work providing you with the speed you’re looking for, you will still need to pedal out of tight corners, brake before making wider turns, and keep your bike stable after you’ve jumped. The key to this type of gameplay is keeping your bike in the air without crashing, which will lose most of the boost you have built up. Tricks are what primarily allows you to fill-up your boost meter. For example, if you complete a trick before landing it will give you more boost than landing normally. Chain together multiple moves in the air for longer periods of time for larger boosts. Backflip requires a full rotation of the bike, however no handers, supermans, and Heel Clickers don’t require as much airtime.
In addition to riding well, you will also have opportunities to punch or kick your opponents who are close-by and disrupt their momentum. Airborne kicks can also award an Air Strike bonus. However, some riders may retaliate against you or chase you after they fall down due to your actions. Therefore, fighting is helpful but has risks associated with it. In addition to the original four courses (Classic, Timberline, Rockgarden), there is one additional course called “Daily” that generates randomly based on today’s date. Lastly, your level of difficulty affects how aggressive and fast your opponents are. Downhill Mayhem offers Three levels of difficulty: Chill, mayhem, and Brutal.
Key Features

Beginner tips
- Apply brakes before turning into tight corners rather than after turning into them.
- Don’t attempt complex tricks until you know exactly how far the jump is going to send you into the air.
- Keep your boost reserved for climbing hills or exiting corners at high speeds or for last minute sprints toward the end.
- Staying focused on the trail is the biggest thing to remember when trying to catch other riders.
Intermediate tips
- Only perform chains of tricks on jumps that have sufficient height and length.
- Follow closely behind another rider before accelerating past them.
- Airborne kicks are very effective when used on a competitor within range to receive a clean hit.
- View your personal-best ghost rider to locate areas of slower line and poor landing spots.
Most common mistakes
- When attempting a long trick, performing it too close to the ground results in a crash.
- Maintaining top speed throughout each turn creates excessive exit angles.
- Using all boost immediately forces you to either wait for more boost at the finish line or risk losing a significant amount of speed.
- Fighting next to cliffs may cause both riders to go off course.
