Buddy talks back. Hit him and he complains, leave him alone and he starts offering you tea. Kick The Buddy is a free stress relief clicker you play in your browser. You click to hit a ragdoll named Buddy, fill the meter at the top until he's knocked out, and spend the coins you earn on outfits and new rooms while the Notepad hands you weapons.
Game Controls
- Hit Buddy: LEFT CLICK
- Open Notepad: CLICK the gun icon
How It Works
Kick The Buddy puts Buddy, a ragdoll with a star on his chest, inside a cardboard box room, and your mouse does the rest. Every click lands a hit, Buddy reacts with a pained remark, and the meter at the top of the screen moves toward KO. Fill it and Buddy goes down.
The damage you deal pays out in coins, shown at the top right next to your gems. Coins and gems buy outfits and new rooms. The gun icon at the top left opens Buddy's Notepad, where the Stuff tab sorts the weapons into categories. There's no timer and no target score, only the next knockout.
- Click Buddy to land your first hit.
- Keep hitting until the meter at the top reaches KO.
- Collect the coins your damage earns.
- Open Buddy's Notepad with the gun icon at the top left.
- Pick a weapon from one of the Stuff categories.
- Buy an outfit for Buddy in the Profile tab.
- Save up for a new room in the Decor tab.
What Makes It Stand Out
- A KO meter. Every hit fills the bar at the top, and a full bar knocks Buddy out.
- 22 weapon categories. The Stuff tab groups weapons into sets such as Firearms, Explosives, Foods, Animals and Horror.
- A talking target. Buddy reacts to hits with pain lines and chats when you leave him idle.
- A wardrobe for Buddy. T-shirts, hats, masks, helmets and costumes are bought with coins or gems.
- Rooms to unlock. Buddy starts in a Cardboard Box, and the Padded Cell costs 48,000 coins.
- A statistics page. The Extra tab counts knockouts, explosions, shots fired and earned coins.
Getting Started
- Open the Notepad before anything else in Kick The Buddy. The gun icon at the top left holds every weapon, outfit and room, and nothing in the box points you to it.
- Claim the daily login reward. It pays out coins and gems, so a short visit each day grows your balance without a single hit.
- Look through the Extra tab early. It holds the achievements, such as First Blood for your first hit, plus the switches for sound and Buddy's voice.
- Start with the outfits. Many cost under 2,000 coins and some cost nothing, so they're the first thing your early coins can buy.
Going Further
Kick The Buddy runs on a simple economy: damage turns into coins. Rooms are the big purchase, with the Padded Cell at 48,000 coins and the Fancy Meadow at 78,000, so they take far longer to reach than an outfit. Gems are the scarcer currency, since you start with 25 of them against 100 coins. That makes gems worth keeping for the costumes and masks that are only sold for gems. Knockouts, explosions and shots fired all feed the statistics page in the Extra tab.
Mistakes Worth Avoiding
- Never opening the Notepad. The weapons, outfits and rooms all stay hidden behind the gun icon.
- Spending gems on coin items. Gems come in much smaller amounts than coins.
- Skipping the daily reward. Each claim adds coins and gems for no effort.
- Leaving the voice on in a quiet room. Buddy talks during play and when idle, and Extra then Voice turns him off.
